My 5-star reads
This section is based solely on books that stuck with me and that I personally rated 5 stars. This does not have anything necessarily to do with the author or the talk surrounding them. This is simply how my initial experience with the novels was and how they impacted my reading journey.
Throttled (and the “Dirty Air” series) by Lauren Asher
This series is… fire, I have to honestly say. All of them left a mark on me, but I must say, “Collided,” which is the second in the series, did some things to me emotionally, and in other ways…I mean, naughty bucket list? brother’s rival? Redemption? Gimme Gimme!
The Fine Print by Lauren Asher

Girl- I have read every book you ever wrote. What do you put in those things?!
Hooked me instantly. You got Dreamland and hot people, emotionally unavailable men with daddy issues, and some drinking problems. Mr. Grumpy Pants Rowan and his sunshine, Zahra. This book introduced me to a new author I could not get enough of. So rough, yet so sweet. I devoured this novel and the others in the “Dreamland Billionaires” series. These characters mean so much to me.
It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover
At College, book slump. Circa 2019/2020, this book went viral. I bought this book not expecting it to go as deep and intense as it did. My first New Adult book (not a YA book, as I was officially a grown lady and could search different departments)—anyway. This book pissed me off, made me cry, and stuck with me long after I finished reading it. And it is not at all “The best” I have ever read, but it is the first book I read after years of yearning for new things to read, which inspired me to branch into new genres and age-group reading. So, regardless of drama or negativity surrounding the art and artist, this was a catalyst for my serious reading journey.
Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover
This book broke me. A controversial read, no doubt, but Miles Archer was a character that made me kick my feet while giggling, but also devastated me entirely, not to mention VERY rated R, which, after reading this author’s previous work, I should have anticipated. Flirty and horny as heck! But also kick me while I’m down, why don’t ya?
Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score (Spoiler)
Do not let the flowery cover fool you; this novel took a turn I could not have seen coming. Rom com or kidnapping, evil sibling situation? Age Gap Grumpy x Sunshine. Single-parent kind of deal. Literally so funny and silly, but also intense and some criminal activity??
